Sciatic Nerve Examination Notes:

  • Sciatic n.:

    • L5 root: spare gastrocnemius (plantar flexion) & post thigh + leg
    • L5 plexus: Sciatic n. + Glut medius
    • Common peroneal n.: Both FL (Fibularis longus & brevis)
    • Superficial peroneal n.: FL (ankle eversion)
    • Deep peroneal n.: TA (tibialis anterior for ankle dorsiflexion)
